I'm using 12.1.2
ALT+INSERT in a class body, the options "Spring Setter Dependency" and "Spring Constructor Dependency" do nothing. As in I select them and then nothing happens at all, no window, no error, nothing in the status bar or event log. @Autowired Dependency works fine. Is this a known issue? How can I troubleshoot?
It is not on the comparison chart, and that would make it the odd one out. If so, then is it in the plans to make it available as a plugin for the Ultimate ed?
I'm contemplating upgrading to IntelliJ from phpStorm, but if I have to buy appcode separately then it may not be worth it, and I would rather just get the ide's that I need separately. So I wanted to confirm this here first. Thanks
I'm using IDEA in my project(spring + ibatis)
When I run test in my test directory then always displaying Exception(com.ibatis.sqlmap.client.SqlMapException: There is no statement named SomeQuery in this SqlMap.)
But sql mapping xml files exist in production output dir.
I cannot find to make IDEA aware my iBatis xml files.
So I can't run my tests.
What is the problem?

In Eclipse, when I make any code changes it automatically shows all compilation errors in the workspace in a console. Is there something similar in IntelliJ? It seems in IntelliJ I have to make/build the project in order to see any compilation errors. Is there a window/tab to show all compilation errors automatically as you make changes to the code?

Im trying to get terminus font to work in intellij for debian linux, in particular the xfonts-terminus and console-terminus debian packages.

I have read multiple posts and advice on how to add fonts to intellij but have failed to make terminus work.
Any advice or experience to share?

Running on linux (ubuntu 12.04), Idea 11.1.5 or Idea 11.1.4, node v0.8.22 or v0.8.8. 16GB RAM, plenty of disk space, Intel i7 CPU, no software firewall running.
I am working in node v0.8.22, Idea 11.0.5 on a client-server project on a local disk. When starting the debugger, it seems that lately it takes about 3 minutes (2:55 typically) for Idea to bring up the javascript program and connect with it. (I see the same issue with v0.8.8 and Idea 11.0.4.)
Once the connection is made, debugging works just fine in every way.
If I use node-inspector instead of Idea and run the program from the command-line, it starts and connects immediately. It goes without saying that I like debugging with Idea much better than with node-inspector and Chrome.
I cannot be absolutely sure, but this issue seems to have come up since December 2012 when I last worked on the project. I am sure I would have noticed it if I had seen it before.
It may be something strange in my environment, but I can't figure out where to start looking. Has anyone else seen a problem with this? Or have any suggestions where to start looking?

IDEA 11.1.5, build IU-117.1043, Java 1.7.0_21 64-bit. Node.js plugin 0.2.2
I use nvm to upgrade and select my version of node.js. I also update the IDEA node.js binary and source locations and keep the debug configuration up-to-date.
But when I have upgraded to a new version of node (currently 0.10.5), and run the debugger, I often find that IDEA is using a cached version of the old source code (in this case 0.8.22 in system/extLibs).
This causes very strange debugging behavior if you need to step into node's code.
Workaround: exit idea and remove every node.js source directory from .IntelliJIdea11/system/extLibs/ except the source for the version you are currently using. Restart IDEA and it will now find the right source code.

When the corresponding namespace (http://abc.com/core) is defined in my faces xhtml file, IDEA says: URI is not registered.

But it doesn’t complain about http://abc.com/b namespace which is defined in the same library in another descriptor file.
The only difference between these 2 descriptor files is <composite-library-name>, which is not in the second one.
When I open this "problem" descriptor file in my project, IDEA colors "abc/core" in red and says: Cannot resolve library. But if I create such project with these tag library descriptor files in IDEA, everything can be resolved and even I can navigate to this abc/core directory.
The question is, why this namespace which contains <composite-library-name> tag is considered to be not registered URI?

I have IntelliJ 12.1.3 and installed the following:
I then went ahead and created a Play project within IDEA (via Java -> Play 2 Module for Java).
Everything appears to go well with the Java files. However, I noticed that the Build.scala file has highlighting errors.
Question is: Is still supposed to have highlighting errors since it is a Scala file? If not, am I missing some configuration I need to do?
BTW, I also enabled Scala type-aware highlighting (where the 'T' is showing on the bottom right status bar), but still no go.
The Scala facet under Project Settings -> Modules has no errors and I left everything as default. The Compiler Library is set at Scala 2.10.0.

Problem is that even if I put the reference into the pom, it still doesn't resolve. Worse: It builds fine from the commandline with no changes at all.
Sure could use a clue or at least a methodology for getting one. Environment is Windows 7 + Cygwin.

I often have build and pub directories with nearly identical copies of my source files.
When I right click on a variable/function/etc in intellij 12, it brings up a contextual menu with links to where that variable/function/etc was declared.
Because of the duplicates, these contextual menus are littered with links to files not in the source directory.
How do I limit this menu to only my source files?

It seem to TAB(touch TAB) selection focus on the window option "Find in Path" (Edit > Find > Find in Path) not run.
It so sadly because we lost time for re keep mouse and selection "OK" for start finding whereas just TAB touch for down selection focus and touch enter for Throw the starting find.
What do you think about this ?

We have java sources in one module. And some app modules in one project used this sources but with different facets configurations.
Is it possible link spring and other configs from other modules?
Several months ago I contributed CUBRID PHP API syntax to PHPStorm to enable autocompletion for functions and other API members. The contribution is now live in the latest version of PHPStorm.
Now I wonder whether I can contribute JDBC API functions and new SQL syntax for CUBRID Database to IDEA IDE.
For example, right now IDEA cannot recognize basic SQL such as AUTO_INCREMENT, AFTER as well as numerous SQL functions such as ADD_MONTHS. So I wanted to fill in this gap.
If it is possible, would you please point me to the documentation where I should look to get started.
UPDATE: I found SQL Support for Java Developers page. But how I can add new Dialect for CUBRID Database?
using latest production Idea 12.1.3 after updating the Android build tools from Google to r17, and trying to compile an Android project, I see error
android-apt-compiler: Cannot run program "/Users/lhamel/tools/android-sdk-mac_x86/platform-tools/aapt": error=2, No such file or directory
Can you duplicate this?
the executable seems to have moved:
$ find ~/tools/android-sdk-mac_x86/ -name "aapt"
~/tools/android-sdk-mac_x86//build-tools/17.0.0/aapt
in other words, r17 may have moved it.
caveat: I tried out the EAP version on this same project, so it could be damaged...

(in IDEA 12.1.3) I notice that when creating a File > New Project > Java Module, then there is different behaviour if I type the module name in first, followed by the project name, as opposed to when I do the opposite.
In the first case the module file path in .idea/modules.xml becomes
<module fileurl="file://$PROJECT_DIR$/moduleFirst.iml" filepath="$PROJECT_DIR$/moduleFirst.iml" />
The latter case becomes
<module fileurl="file://$PROJECT_DIR$/ModuleLast/ModuleLast.iml" filepath="$PROJECT_DIR$/ModuleLast/ModuleLast.iml" />
Now the project structure of the last case (Project First, Module last) makes most sense (see screenshot), but it appears a bit unfortunate that the .idea file isn't immediately visible in IDEA's project browser (see screenshot), like it is in the first case where it's path gets set to the same as that of the module.
Is this a bug? Am I meant to manually add the .idea folder to the project's files?

Congratulations to Jetbrains for their new partnership with Google!
I was just reading about this over at AndroidPolice, and I think it bodes extremely well for those of us who use IntelliJ for Android development. At Google I/O, Google announced they are releasing a stand-alone Android IDE based upon the IntelliJ IDEA Community Version. Development performed by Google will be rolled back into the IntelliJ product, so we should benefit from the increased attention and development.
I personally look forward to more IntelliJ-specific android tutorials being created as it grows in popularity.
